🔗 Share this article The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Selected the Wrong Critical Role Track The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from Critical Role, unveiled an exciting opening credits. It features our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues fighting hard and making their mark, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching backstories for characters such as the voice actor's mage Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, the character Fjord. All in all, the intro looks amazing. However, I felt that something was lost in the song choice. This sequence employs "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song composed by artist the talented musician. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of that title, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I suspect that devotees of the sequel series will love its inclusion. But for me, The Mighty Nein's intro fails to capture the hype and energy that was part of the second campaign's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member Sam Riegel wrote words to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year. Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and fun. Back then, I hadn't seen the follow-up series yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my phone. This track that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun. The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the right notes for me. It's a grand composition, but based on my understanding of this party, I feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched. Of course, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have a few changes and differences from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as one of them. This animated adventure will be released on Prime Video from November 19. For those eager before that, or want a head start to get to know the personas of the second series, the actual play are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
